imagesWith revenues in the range of $2.5 billion, Baker & McKenzie has wrestled the number one law firm spot from DLA Piper. In doing so, the firm has also achieved the milestone of being the first firm to break the $2.5 billion barrier since the global financial crisis.

Baker & McKenzie reported a total income of $2.54 in 2013/14. Headcount hit is up by four percent to 4,245 as of June 30. The firm takes the number one slot in the world on each of these measurements. The firm also saw profits per equity partner 7 percent to $1.29 million.

The main drivers of growth were Banking and Finance, Tax and Dispute Resolution, which all grew significantly, according to the firm. It noted that revenues from the firm’s transactional practies increased to over $1 billion for the first time, highlighting increased corporate activity by clients.

 

In a firm statement, Chairman Eduardo Leite said he was “delighted and proud of how the 10,900 people of Baker & McKenzie have responded to the demands of our clients worldwide during the past twelve months.”
