New Esin partners Koray Sogut and Birturk Aydin
Esin Attorney Partnership, a member firm of Baker & McKenzie International, announced last week the pomotions of Koray Sogut and Birturk Aydin to partner.
Birturk Aydin leads the firm’s compliance practice. He joined Esin Attorney Partnership in 2005 and focuses his practice on anti-corruption, trade sanctions and export control matters. He works with companies to design and implement their compliance programs, policies, procedures and risk assessments. Birturk also advises on real estate and M&A matters.
Koray Sogut has been promoted to partner in the dispute resolution practice group. He joined the Esin in 2009 and focuses his practice on litigation matters, in particular, corporate and commercial disputes.
These two promotions follow two lateral hires, Eren Kursun as M&A partner and Erdal Ekinci as head of the tax practice earlier this year. Eren Kursun represents strategic buyers and sellers, as well as private equity funds, in the acquisition and sale of public and private targets. Erdal Ekinci leads the Firm’s tax practice and advises on all tax-related matters for the firm’s domestic and international clients.
Globally, Baker & McKenzie has elected 65 new partners, including two in Istanbul, bringing the total number of partners in the Firm to 1,480. The Firm has also added 56 lateral partners in key practice areas over the past year, and opened new offices in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Yangon, Myanmar. Combining this year’s promotions and lateral talent, the Baker added 121 partners.
