Private practice

Havel, Holasek & Partners introduced two new partners into the firm, Jiri Buryan and Juraj Dubovsky Aug. 19. Buryan specializes in M&A, commercial law and public sector law. Dubovsky advises clients on national and international litigation and arbitration, as well as restructuring and insolvency. Both partners were previously with Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

Shepherd and Wedderburn hired new partner Gareth Parry to construction and special projects practice on Aug 19. Parry has significant experience in major energy, regeneration and infrastructure projects. He will be located in the UK as well as overseas.

 In House

Bethpage Federal Credit Union named Lydia Nicolino as general counsel on Aug. 15. Prior to this announcement Nicolino was general counsel and secretary of the Long Island Power Authority for 15 years being involved with various energy contracts and agreements as well as working with energy efficiency and renewable projects.

Biris Goran welcomed new partner Ana Maria Andronic to the firm in Romania Aug. 13. Previously in her IT experience she worked with a range of IT operators and investors especially venture capital investments, internet privacy matters and trademark related matters.

Jenner & Block announced new partner Jessica Hertz as senior counsel Aug. 19. She is part of the litigation department.

VimpelCom appointed new partner Scott Dresser who previously worked at Virgin Media, replacing current partner Jeffrey McGhie on Aug. 15. Dresser left his role as vice president of Global Strategic Initiatives. Before that he was general counsel at Virgin Media. Dresser’s extensive range of expertise in a variety of industries in both the UK and U.S.
