berlin2_-Andrey-PopovBerwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has snatched up a team of Orrick real estate and infrastructure attorneys. The team will join BLP Oct. 1.

Led by two partners, the hires come shortly after BLP appointed nine lawyers from boutique law firm Haley & Co into its Hong Kong office.

Dr Norbert Impelmann was head of the Orrick real estate practice in Germany and also head of the Berlin office.

According to the BLP statement on the transfer, the other former Orrick partner, Dr Albrecht von Breitenbuch, “successfully built and spearheaded Orrick’s prestigious technology practice for start-ups and venture capital investors in the dynamic and vibrant Berlin market.”

In a press release, Roland Fabian, managing partner of BLP in Germany, said:

“Germany, and in particular Berlin, ranks highly in Europe’s 10 most active real estate markets and there is huge potential for us as a firm in the region. It is a hugely exciting time as we are set to see continuing high levels of investment in the coming months in European real estate.’
