Squire Sanders announced that senior corporate lawyer Michał Karwacki has joined as Of Counsel in its Warsaw office from Dentons. Mr. Karwacki has over 14 years of transactional experience with a special focus on the private equity and venture capital (VC) sectors, and will lead the firm’s practice in those areas in Poland.
Mr. Karwacki is known for his skills in managing and advising on all aspects and stages of private equity and VC transactions, from matching potential deal partners, and structuring and negotiating deals to closing and post-completion work. Recent deals include assisting MCI Capital Partners on the acquisition of shares for a leading web portal.
“Squire Sanders is recognized as a leading adviser in the private equity and VC markets in Central and Eastern Europe,” according to the firm’s press release. Together with other partners in the Global Corporate practice in London, Moscow and Warsaw, Mr. Karwacki will help accelerate the growth of the firm’s private equity practice in Poland and support similar deals in the wider region and neighboring emerging markets such as Turkey, according to the firm.
