hong-kongMayer Brown, which already operates in Shanghai and Beijing, is set to sign an association agreement with one of the oldest and largest Chinese firms, Jingtian & Gongcheng in Honn Kong, according to London-based The Lawyer.

The two firms are expected to look into how they can share staff, cross-sell and engage in joint marketing and cooperate outside Hong Kong

The arrangement is expected to be finalzied in the next month. After that time, the firms will share office space. Jingtian & Gongcheng is known for its securities and banking work provided through its team of roughly 90 partners and 185 other lawyers.

Mayer Brown has 1,500 lawyers in 19 offices around the world, including two China offices in Beijing and Shanghai. Jingtian has offices in Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
